Who We Are!

Beit Israel was started in 2002, at that time we were located in Escatawpa, MS. We met in Mississippi until Hurricane Katrina, after which we were forced to move to the Mobile, Alabama area and since that time we have felt lead to stay in Alabama. In 2011 we moved to our permanent location in Bayou La Batre, AL. We are a Messianic Jewish synagogue and are fully dedicated to bringing the Message of Messiah to our Jewish people and also to the Nations.

In our services you will experience a blend of traditional Jewish liturgy with modern Messianic worship. The Bible –– consisting of both the Tanakh (Hebrew Scriptures) and the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant Writings) –– is a central focus of our services, our lives, and our community.

We strive to be a community centered congregation where everyone is considered mishpocha (family). Beit Israel is a community of both Jews and Gentiles who worship the One True God of Israel, are washed clean by the cleansing Blood of Yeshua (Jesus) the promised Mashiach (Messiah) of Israel, and are transformed by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).

Beit Israel is a member of the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS- www.iamcs.org) and associated with the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA- www.mjaa.org) and we support the work of the Young Messianic Jewish Alliance (YMJA- www.ymja.org).

About the Rabbi & Rebbetzin

Rabbi Paul Collins was born and raised in Ottumwa, Iowa. He married Sally (our Rebbetzin) in 1982 in Pekin, Illinois, and together they have three children (Josh, Danielle and Melissa). Rabbi Paul and Rebbetzin Sally accepted Yeshua as Messiah in 1983, and their lives were radically changed by the Ruach HaKodesh in 1997.

Rabbi Paul was raised in a non-practicing Jewish home, in a small Jewish community in Ottumwa with a deep Jewish identity. In roughly 1997, before finding Messianic Judaism, he became involved in a local Motorcycle Ministry. Just a couple of years later Paul and Sally were introduced to Messianic Judaism through a local Messianic Synagogue. Rabbi Paul immediately felt more at home than ever before in his walk with the Lord, and it was through this congregation that he finally came full circle in his Jewish faith and identity, founded completely in Yeshua.

Rabbi Paul has been the Rabbi of Beit Israel Messianic Synagogue since its inception.

They currently have seven beautiful grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren with plenty of room in their hearts for more.

Rabbi Paul is also the President and co-founder of The Remnant MMC (www.theremnantmmc.com), a Messianic Jewish motorcycle club.

His sole desire is to see all Israel came to faith in Yeshua, the Promised Messiah (Romans 11:26)
